HOW TO REGISTER

All applications start on September 20th 2022, and the deadline for submission of applications is October 24th, 2022.

Registration is done by clicking the “Register” button which leads you to the application form.

After sending the application form candidate will get the confirmation e-mail and then proceed to the payment of the appropriate fee. Payment receipt (scanned or photographed) should be sent on an e mail: guitarunitedfest@gmail.com

* Application is considered complete only when both the application form and the payment receipt has been mailed and received.

ACTIVE AND PASSIVE PARTICIPATION

• Active participant

Active participant registration fee is 45 EUR and it includes: Tickets for all concerts, 2 individual lesson of 35 minutes with the chosen professor, passive participation on all the master classes, entrance to the exhibitions and lectures.

Participant who applies as Active chooses names of 5 professors that he/she’d like to have lesson with, and Festival management, considering the priority of applications and availability of professors chooses 2 professors to give candidate a 35 minutes lessons.

If the participant wants to have an additional lesson, he/she can send an e-mail and ask about availability on guitarunitedfest@gmail.com. After the expiration of the registration period, if the chosen professor is available, additional lesson at a price of 15 EUR is then arranged.

• Passive participant

Passive participant registration fee is 20 EUR and it includes: Tickets for all concerts, passive participation on all the master classes, entrance to the exhibitions and lectures.

All Active and Passive participants will receive a diploma for the participation at the Festival.

Competition is held ONLINE by means of Video recordings of the competitors, and is judged by a panel of Internationally renowned soloists and pedagogues, festival guests.

Competitors should upload their videos on YouTube and the video’s link should be filled on an application form.

It is MANDATORY to name the videos in a following way:

Video’s title: GUITAR UNITED FEST 2021 ONLINE COMPETITION, COMPETITOR’S NAME & SURNAME, CATEGORY

(Example: GUITAR UNITED FEST 2021 ONLINE COMPETITION, JOHN SMITH, 3rd CATEGORY)

In the video’s Description the performed program should be written – Full names of the composers and the titles of the pieces performed.

(Example:

1. J. S. Bach: Prelude BWV 1005
2. F. Sor:   Etude op. 6 nr 3…etc).

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE VIDEO RECORDING

• Video has to be in mp4 format with the minimal resolution of 720p and maximal resolution of 1080p done in a horizontal position of the camera (landscape);
• Competitor should be clearly visible on the video, in particular face, both hands and the guitar;
• Recommended distance between the performer and the camera is approx. 2m;
• If the competitor uses separate microphone for the recording the sound and the video should be in perfect sync and the microphone should not obstruct the visibility of the competitor’s face and hands;
• Interruption in the course of the recording as well as between the performed compositions is not allowed as is not any kind of editing;
• Any recording that is found to be edited in any way will not be accepted and the jury withholds the right to disqualify it;
• Total duration of the recording is the total performing time, including the pause(s) between the pieces, and it should not be exceeded;
• Competitors are obliged to perform all the music from memory;
• Recordings than not comply to any of the above regulations will not be considered;

Other competition rules and regulations

• The decisions of the jury are irrevocable;
• The order of the candidate’s videos on a play-list within given category will be in an alphabetical fashion;
• Younger candidates can compete in older categories;
• One candidate can compete in more than one category;
• In case the two candidates score equal number of points, the prize goes to the younger candidate;
• Festival committee will award one special prize “Young Guitar Talent of Sarajevo East 2021” to the best competitor from Sarajevo East;
• Jury reserves the right not to award some of the prizes;
• Festival reserves the right to broadcast the videos via web platforms, social networks, TV and radio stations and the competitors renounce any authorship or performance copyrights by sending the application form;
• Festival reserves the right to eventual changes in time-table, dates or festival program;
• In case that 3 or less then 3 candidates have registered in one of the competition categories organizer keeps the right to cancel the competition in that category.

Results announcement:

Play lists of the videos grouped in categories will be published on the official Festival YouTube channel and Facebook page on 29th October 2021.

The official results of the competition will be published on Festival’s web page and Facebook page on 30th October 2021.

Payment Regulations

a) Candidates from countries outside Bosnia and Herzegovina should make their payments via a Pay-Pal Account linked to the e-mail: vojislav_i@yahoo.com

b) Candidates who take part in the Competition but also apply as Active or Passive participants pay total amount consisting of the Active or Passive registration fee + Competition registration fee.

* In case that candidate cancels the participation the registration fee will not be refunded.
