The competition takes place in two stages.

I stage is held ONLINE:
A video recording of two or more compositions of free choice, different in style and character. Duration: between 12 – 15 minutes.
The 5 candidates with the highest scores in VI Category will advance to the second stage (final).
The names of the finalists, along with the links to their videos, will be published on the festival’s Facebook and Instagram pages on October 15 2025.

II stage is held LIVE at East Sarajevo on November 14th
Program: Two or more compositions of free choice, different in style and character. Duration: between 18 – 22 minutes.
Competitors cannot play the same pieces in both stage of the competition.

Competition is held ONLINE by means of Video recordings of the competitors, and is judged by a panel of Internationally renowned soloists and pedagogues, festival guests.
Competitors should upload their videos on YouTube and the video’s link should be filled on an application form.

It is MANDATORY to name the videos in a following way: Video’s title: GUITAR UNITED FEST 2025 ONLINE COMPETITION, COMPETITOR’S
NAME & SURNAME, CATEGORY
(Example: GUITAR UNITED FEST 2025 ONLINE COMPETITION, JOHN SMITH, VI CATEGORY)

In the video’s Description the performed program should be written – Full names of the composers and the titles of the pieces performed.
(Example: J. S. Bach: Prelude BWV 1005 F. Sor: Etude op. 6 nr 3…etc).

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE VIDEO RECORDING

• Competitor should be clearly visible on the video, in particular face, both hands and the guitar preferably done in a horizontal position of the camera (landscape);

• If the competitor uses separate microphone for the recording the sound and the video should be in perfect sync and the microphone should not obstruct the visibility of the competitor’s face and hands;

• Interruption in the course of the recording as well as between the performed compositions is not allowed as is not any kind of editing;

• Any recording that is found to be edited in any way will not be accepted and the jury withholds the right to disqualify it;

• Total duration of the recording is the total performing time, including the pause(s) between the pieces, and it should not be exceeded;

• Competitors are obliged to perform all the music from memory;

• Recordings than not comply to any of the above regulations will not be considered;
