FESTIVAL 2016

GuitarUnited - Guitar Fest Sarajevo East

GuitarUnited Fest was founded with an aim of promotion and growth of the art of the guitar and music in general, through gathering and interplay of the performers, teachers, students and audiences. The program guideline of the festival, with classical guitar in center of attention, includes most diverse musical genres, soloists and ensembles, and anything that is connected to the guitar as an instrument, with one criteria only - high artistic value.
From 28th till 30th of October 2016, in the premise of the Cultural Centre of Sarajevo East, first edition of the festival will gather multitude of eminent artists from Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad - performers, lecturers and teachers, as well as great number of students - participants in master classes. Besides concerts,program includes a competition, exhibitions, lectures and promotions.
In the spirit of its slogan, Guitar United Fest wants to unite diverse musical worlds, nations, cultures and languages, the young and old, through friendship, education and joy of music making.

Second edition of our festival continues where we left last year! More concerts, more workshops and promotions, competition in 6 categories, “Voice of the Audience” award and even more music and friends making!
Last year’s slogan “Guitar Unites” truly lived to its meaning and became our permanent orientation. Let music and guitar again unite musical worlds, people and nations!

Guitar United Fest celebrates its third birthday! We've gathered once more: performers, professors, students and competitors and all of us who love guitar. Concerts, master classes, competition and exhibitions are ahead of us, and lots and lots of friends making. Let your hands and the sound of our instrument unite the world once again!

Dear GuitArtists,

Guitar unites us for the 4th time! This year again, we'll cherish friendship on concerts, master classes, competition and exhibitions. This year's edition welcomes guests from many countries and, for the first time, guests from across the ocean. Guitar United becomes world wide recognized through its programs, competition winners and our unique spirit of friendship.
Very special event this year is Anniversary Concert of Vojislav Ivanović, one of the world's most prominent composers and guitarists, joined by plethora of internationally recognized artists and newly established Sarajevo Youth Chamber Orchestra, celebrating his 40 years of artistic achievement.

Dear GuitArtists,

Despite all the organizational problems that this tough and challenging year imposed on all of us, it is with joy that we gather once more for our guitar festivities. Unable to conduct workshops and competition we strived to enrich and give more variety to our concerts and other events program. It is of special importance that this year we turned 5! During these years, which in the beginning seemed to be distant and uncertain, our festival grew and became a valued member of the international guitar festival community, which poses an obligation to do our best in future to be better, more attractive and always younger. Thus, besides usual concerts, presentation of the Moov Travel Guitar and, for the first time, concert entitled "Guitar United Youth Stage" we will celebrate our first Anniversary with the exhibition of the best posters from the 5 editions of the festival under the slogan, which this year holds particular meaning:

Dear GuitArtists,

Guitar United Fest continues its musical journey. 6th edition welcomes back old program scheme, which, due to the pandemic, last year was not possible. We’ll enjoy in the concerts of great soloists, attend master classes with the distinguished professors and compete in the Online competition. For the first time we’ll have a chance to listen to the flamenco guitar concert and have opportunity to learn about flamenco technique on a group lecture. Hoping that next year’s edition will be full “live” again, welcome to guitar festivities, learning and making friends under the slogan:

It is with great joy that we meet again this year, as we used to, with all the festival events "Live"! Festival's program is focused on our own guitar and music achievements and on our own young and talented artists. Besides the concert program we'll enjoy in a rich and interesting program of lectures and presentations, we'll gather new knowledge, compete and, as always, make friends and cherish the spirit of friendship and love for the music and our instrument.

Dear GuitArtists,

This year the festival looks back on its beginnings. Along the classical guitar we'll enjoy again in the sound of an acoustic guitar which merges traditions of the Balkan, Jazz and classical music. Great Trio Balkan Strings which opened our first edition back in 2016 is opening this year's festival again. Besides the concert program you can take part in Master classes with distinguished pedagogues, Competition, lectures and presentations. And, as always, we'll make friends and cherish the spirit of friendship and love for the music and our instrument.
