How to register
Applications start on September 10th 2025, and the deadline for submission of applications is November 8th, 2025 except for the applications for the competition in the VI category which start on September 10th and closes on October 10th.
Candidate chooses between “Active”, “Passive” or “VI category online competition” participation options and clicks on “Register” which leads to the application form.
In the application form candidate should write down the names of 5 professors (*except for Zoran Dukić) in the order of his/hers preference. Depending on the priority of the application’s arrival and the available schedule of the professors, festival committee will chose 2 professors with whom the candidate will have lessons. By sending the application the candidate agrees on these terms and conditions.
* If the candidate wants to apply for a 40 minute master class with Zoran Dukić it is charged separately at 40 EUR and is not included in any package. The number of lessons is limited to 10 and will be available to the first 10 applicants. When applying please check the corresponding box in the form if you would like to have a lesson with Zoran Dukić. To be eligible for this lesson candidate must be registered either as an Active or Passive Candidate. If you apply as an active participant you will have a total of 3 lessons: two with selected professors from the list + one with Zoran Dukić.
Participants who want to take part in the competition must be either Active or Passive Candidates except for those applying for the competition in the VI category for which it is not obligatory to be neither Active not Passive Candidate.
After sending the application form candidate will get the confirmation e-mail with total amount to be paid. Note that if you don’t receive a confirmation email within 2 days please contact us at guitarunitedfest@gmail.com
After that candidate should pay 50% of the total amount of the registration fee (and a full amount for the candidates applying for competition in the VI category) on the account:

The rest of the registration fee should be paid in cash at Festival desk upon arrival.
Candidates from countries outside of Bosnia and Herzegovina should contact festival secretary on guitarunitedfest@gmail.com and will be given instructions for the payment related to the country that they are coming from.
Application is considered complete only when both the application form and the payment receipt has been mailed and received!
Total number of Active Candidates is limited to 45. Depending on the priority of the application’s arrival and the available schedule of the professors, festival committee will chose 2 professors with whom the candidate will have lessons.
Participation options

Active Candidate ~ 120 KM/60 EUR
2 individual lessons of 40 minutes each with the chosen professors (* classes with Zoran Dukić are paid for separately, see explanation above), passive participation on all the master classes, entrance to all concerts, participation at the Zoran Dukić’s lecture and all the festival events and participation duploma.
Pssive Candidate ~ 40 KM/20 EUR
Passive participation on all the master classes, entrance to all concerts and all the festival events, participation at the Zoran Dukić’s lecture and participation diploma.
VI category online competition ~ 100 KM/50 EUR
The competition takes place in two stages.
I stage is held Online by sending video recording uploaded on YouTube until October 10th.
II stage (Final) is held Live at East Sarajevo on November 14th.
a) Competition is open to public.
b) Jury, consisting of the festival guests, teachers and soloists, will monitor the competition and will award the prizes.
c) The decisions of the jury are irrevocable.
d) The candidates will appear in an alphabetical order.
e) All compositions must be played from memory.
f) The requested duration comprises all of the candidate’s appearance.
g) In case the duration exceeds the requested maximum, the jury reserves the right to interrupt the performance.h) Younger candidates can compete in older categories.
i) One candidate can compete in more than one category.
j) In case the two candidates score equal amount of points, the prize goes to the younger candidate.
k) The winners from all the categories will appear on the final Gala concert on November 15th 2025. at 19:00 h in the National Theatre Hall. They will each perform one composition of 5 min. maximum duration.
l) Prizes award will follow t 19:30 h
m) Festival committee will award one special prize “Young Guitar Talent of East Sarajevo 2025” to the best competitor from East Sarajevo.
n) Jury reserves the right not to award some of the prizes.
o) In I, II and III competition categories candidates are ranked according to the number of acquired points in such a manner that there can be more then one 1st, 2nd or 3rd prize (I prize od 95 – 100, II prize od 85 – 94,9 and III prize od 75 – 84,9).
One candidate in each category who had won the absolutely highest number of points is awarded a Category Laureate Prize.
p) In the IV, V and VI category only one 1st, one 2nd and one 3rd prize in each category are awarded according to the number of acquired points.
r) The 5 candidates with the highest scores in VI Category will advance to the second stage (final).
s) Finalists are responsible for covering their own travel and accommodation costs in East Sarajevo.
t) Winners of the competition who receive Saers Guitars are required, in the agreement with the organizers, to record a short video playing their awarded instruments.
