Dragan Nikolić (SRB)

Dragan Nikolic was born in Valjevo, Serbia, on 8th September 1961. He’s been playing guitar since he was eleven, firstly inspired by the music of Manitas de Plata and later of Paco de Lucia.

Since 1984. he started playing actively Flamenco music and in 1987. he founded group “Los Ginatos” which was later renamed to “Duende”. For the first time in our country this group fuses performance of the guitar with the flamenco dance and singing. With “Duende” he played more than 500 concerts and appeared in numerous TV broadcasts. In 2001. the group gets highly commended on the Flamenco festival in Bratislava.

With the Album “Sitio” he opens a new horizon in his career with the modern concept of music-making based on forms and spirit of Flamenco but with a distinct personal style.

He teaches guitar in the music school „Živorad Grbić“ in Valjevo.
